The I7-ft. 6-in, wheelbase of t PS 2/1 chassis had to be reduced 1 ft. I in. to align with that of t Titan PD 2/10 chassis. This neces tated replacing the main frames wi PD 2/10 components, to which t existing cross-members were WA Propeller shafts and brake rods wc shortened and standard PD 2/10 ro springs fitted.
The adapted double-deckers are 27 long by 7 ft. 6 in. wide and 14 ft. 6 I high. The main framework is of t M.C.W. Mark IV all-metal type, al light-alloy structural panels serve interior linings and bracing for t framework. Bulkheads are rigid attached to the chassis, and cm bearers, which are of 2-in, light joi section, are connected to the chas brackets by means of special forg, steel clamps.

IN an attempt to effect economies, t Ulster Transport Authdrity has co sidered the possibility of introducil one-man. buses on certain count routes. It has also investigated t possibilities of reducing the weight double-deck buses.
This was revealed at a hearing by ti Transport Tribunal in Belfast, last wee into an application by U.T.A. for general revision of maximum charg and conditions of carriage.
