CRIME

POLICE ARE HUNTING a gang who hijacked a truck at gunpoint and made off with a load of cash.

The attack happened last Thursday afternoon (6 January) on the M65 near Bamber Bridge in Lancashire.

Two men in a red Ford Escort ordered the driver to pull over after following him off J2 of the motorway. He was then threatened with a handgun.

The Daf was later found abandoned near Chorley. Police are asking for witnesses who saw the truck, owned by Batley's Pet Foods in Bolton, to contact them immediately.

Contact 0845 1 25 35 45 LANCASHIRE POLICE have also released photographs of trac tor units that were used during the theft of £500,000 worth of Tiny plasma televisions and computers from FDC Holdings in Chorley last month.

At about 7prn on 11 December 2004 three white tractors were seen close to the scene of the theft; they were travelling extremely close to each other.
