Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The fate of more than 40 drivers for Oakhampton-based Bryan Haulage will be decided in the next couple of months following a string of drivers' hours convictions.

Traffic Commissioner Christopher Heaps held an initial enquiry before Christmas to consider whether to revoke the vocational licences of 27 of the drivers, but only 21 turned up. Heaps adjourned his decision until he could see all the drivers at one hearing.

The Vehicle Inspectorate has so far successfully prosecuted 30 drivers, resulting in 300 convictions. Six more Bryan drivers pleaded guilty at Barnstable Magistrates Court this week.
