Complete package
THE A175 super arc welding transformer is made by Lyte Arc Welders Ltd, of Heywoods Heath, Sussex. It runs off a domestic single phase electrical supply, is portable, weighs about lcwt and needs no special insulation. The package can be supplied complete with trolly and insulated electrode box, electrode holder, clamp, slag hammer and wire brush. Back-up service includes instruction on how to operate the equipment if required.
Axle weigher
THE GRANTHAM Rubber Marketing Co Ltd, of Grantham, Lincolnshire, is marketing an Australian-made one-man portable axle weigher.
To obtain the best results, two Loadrite units should be used per axle or, alternatively, one unit in conjunction with a levelling block, which will minimise errors due to weight transfer from one side to the other.
Each unit weighs 25.4 kg (56(b) and measures 1,178mm (46.4in) long, 650mm (6.5in) high and 298mm (11.75in) wide, and is said to be compact enough to be carried inside the vehicle cab.
The basic price of each unit is £285 and levelling blocks are £22 a set.
