OVERALL savings in fuel consumption of between 10 and 12 per cent have been achieved by National Carriers using wind deflectors on several vehicles operating out of their Plymouth depot.
The deflector — known as the Warnes Aeroflo — is manufactured by Roy Warnes, Hillside, South Brent in Devon. Seven Aeroflos were fitted to Seddon Atkinson 400, Fiat 684 and Dodge Commando tractive units for 12 weeks, fol lowing a similar period IA out the devices to estat data.
