KINGS, a subsidiary of Tarmac Roadstone Ltd, has put t lightweight Foden sixers to work on improvements to Glasgow to Inverness A9 trunk road.
When' fitted with Carrimore aluminium alloy bodies, the vehicles can carry a payload of almost 17 tons — representing an increase of more than a ton over that carried by the corn pany's existing Foden S80 wheelers.
The main features of lightweight are a Gardner engine coupled to a Fo eight-speed gearbox driI through to a 'spiral bevel double drive rear bogie.
