SPEAKING at the annual dinner of the' Institute of the Motor Industry. last week, Sir Hartley Shawcross. Attorney-General, described as " magnificent performance" the motor industry's export achievements for 1949. He said that last year, about 250.000 cars and 90,000 commercial vehicles were exported, but even more had to be done.
He admitted that "of all trades, in these difficult times, I suppose the motor trade is the most harassed.",
