• A new organisation for tachograph analysts plans to reverse the "damage caused to the industry by untrained, unqualified and unprofessional analysts".
Founding members of the European Society of Tachograph Analysis, including North Westbased W&J Foster, Tachodisc and Mills Associates, will hold an inaugural meeting on 19 March. Gordon Humphreys of W&J Foster claims ESTA will represent "the professionally committed sector of the industry" by insisting that all members win BS5750 within 18 months.
The other body which represents tachograph analysts, the Tachograph Analysis Association, strongly denies that its entry rules are lax, but it welcomes the new group.
