• The London Lorry Ban could receive a fresh blow this month, as Brent decides whether to become the fourth borough to leave the scheme in April.
The London Boroughs Transport Committee will already have to increase the scheme's annual fee by 10% for the 21 remaining boroughs when Hillingdon, Ealing and Enfield withdraw later this year. The RHA reckons that more boroughs will now opt for cheaper local schemes: "There is a growing realisation that the heavy handed approach of the LBTC to lorry control is unnecessary," it says.
