Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Salisbury-based Bligh Boards has taken delivery of a 198kW (265hp) Foden 3000 Series which is plated for drawbar use at 32 tonnes, but will run solo for 90% of the time.

The company says the Foden's 10.2-tonne payload and high power rating makes it suitable for drawbar trunking work, but it still returns a frugal 27.7lit/100km (10.2mpg) while operating as a rigid, says operations director Andrew Parsons. This compares with about 22.6 lit/100km (12.5mpg) from the company's Foden 2000 Series rigid.

The 3000 Series curtainsider is used to trunk loads of timber between depots in Salisbury and Rochester, but most of its time is spent on local multidrop work.

Bligh also runs 10 Mercedes, ERFs and Leyland Dafs from its Rochester site.
