Not only did it reveal lowemission Euro 1 versions of the five-cylinder .322 and the sixcylinder .372 and .422 engines from the F90 range, but more significantly it launched a highpower variant of its 6.87-litre six used in the G90 and M90 trucks.
The D0826LF (04) is rated at an impressive 198kW (266hp) backed up by 1,000Nm (7381bft) of torque. This formidable specific output of 28.8kW (38.7hp)/ litre is achieved with the help of a wastegate turbocharger, high-pressure injection and optimised valve timing.
Not surprisingly the engine meets Euro 1 standards, and it is available for all M90 vehicles
An interesting method of gaining extra volume comes from Pijnacker-based Burg, which has simply added a pull-out tail section to a 13.57m curtainsider to carry 28 pallets.
With its extra-length drapes released, a hand-wind mechanism is used to retract the rear bulkhead using telescopic floor and roof rails. A fold-down aluminium floor plate then provides an extra metre for two more pallets of empty soft drink cans.
Another trailer builder to offer a variation on extra loading space was Boalloy's Dutch arm, Tautliner Europa BV. The much improved Lifting Roof 13.74m curtainsider gives a 2.66m inner height for continental work with an extra 500mm when its 80mm deep roof is raised for running in the UK.
A hydraulic ram in the front wall lifts the guided bulkhead frame; interconnecting cables raise the tail end. The system adds only 250kg to the tare weight, and there is a choice of hand pump, electric motor or pneumatic lifting systems.
