Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

General and bulk liquid haulier James Moffat and Sons is distancing itself from any formal association with Jim Hay, the man behind a string of failed haulage companies including John Adams and Sons, Finlay Guy and Eye Plc.

Rumours have been circulating since Moffat opened a new depot in Hamilton, Strathclyde taking on 11 people who used to work for Hay. They include eight drivers and three traffic operators: Jim McDougall, Bob Young and Alan Johnson.

Commercial manager Andrew Farmer stresses that Moffat is a "well-respected family fire which has been in business for 50 years: "There

are tot many rumours going around, but we have no association with Jim Hay at all."

Four of Jim Hay's companies have gone into liquidation in the past year; most recently Finlay Guy, which went to the wall last month. Finlay Guy took over from Eye Plc, which ceased trading in August.
