Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

back in 1988 and its tractive units scored an instant success but the 8 x 4 is not a big seller coming well down the league table of registrations. However, the Swedish manufacturer's products are well liked and have many devotees. The subject of this month's Workshop Ways is one such vehicle.

Operator Robert Gibbs' vehicles have a hard life carrying scrap iron, steel and other metals in the Birmingham to south coast area. The vehicle we looked at can carry two skips — Gibbs works on the ratio of 100 skips to every vehicle. In 14 months it has clocked up over 134,000km and was to receive an intermediate service (M6).

There are three levels of service on Scanias: M3, M6 and M12 carried out in the sequence 3, 6, 3, 12. Standard times for these are 6, 7.5 and 10 hours respectively. Intervals between services are three months or 30,000km with an MX (inspection and grease only) carried out to cover licencing requirements.

Two technicians, Darran Carter and Sean Mountfield, worked on the vehicle and both have served apprenticeships with Scantruck where the service was carried out. They have 14 years experience between them and have been on just about every Scania training course there is.
