"As a health monitor we have to weigh them occasionally, and of course they are too big for the bathroom scales," explains circus manager Chris Barltrop. The winsome threesome weigh in at more than nine tonnes unladen — with Susie at 3.5 tonnes; Janie three tonnes and Sarah ("perhaps more health conscious than the others") under three tonnes.
