• The number of tipper lorries being reported to Cominercial Motor as stolen continues to grow. At about 2am on Thursday, December 4, two 8x4 MAN 32 30.240 14m3 tippers were

taken from Boyers Wharf, Court Lane, lver in Buckinghamshire.

One of the trucks was owned by P Dolan Haulage and the other by O'Haire Haulage. The two operations share the same yard. Both of the trucks are white and O'Haire's registration number is C752 CYX and Dolan's DLD 933Y. O'Haire is offering a £4,000 reward.

On Sunday, December 7, Stan Martin's company Harvel Tipping Services lost an eightwheel lveco tipper complete with a specially made Birchwood steel body from Nell's Cafe on the A2. The unit's registration number is C295 FKP. He is offering a £2,000 reward. "I reckon that the truck is still in one piece," says Martin, mainly because the Vodafone he had fitted into the unit is still giving a response when he rings the number.

Tunnel Tipping and Earthmoving lost an eight wheel Foden tipper on October 4, 'registration number EKR 503V and chassis number 104180.

Dalison of Erith in Kent has had a three-month wrangle with Norwich Union over two lveco tippers stolen in September.

"If not for the tolerance of the bank manager, I would have gone bust by now."
