Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

NEW PHONES • British Telecom has introduced a new two-way radio service in London which it claims gives a faster, clearer and more confidential service than conventional two-way radio systems.

The improvement in the service is possible because BT provides a multi-channel service, as opposed to a single-channel service, transmitted via the Telecom Tower.

HT claims the system will allow for the transmission of messages from base to vehicle and from vehicle to vehicle. It should also allow for the transmission of radio data for use with radio printers.

Li The Pinpoint vehicle location and navigation system being developed by British Telecom, Plessey and other British electronics companies, took another important step nearer completion last week.

The Department of Trade and Industry has approved the radio beacons which BT plans to fit to lamposts around London. Each beacon will transmit a coded locational message, helping the vehicle's on-board computer to pinpoint its position in London.

Until now Pinpoint has operated as a locational system only. The approval from the Government will allow Telecom to extend the system for navigational purposes.

N EW FORK LIFTS • Yale Materials Handling claims that its new RD range of combustion-ertgined lift trucks includes some important innovations.

Succeeding Yale's established RC range, the RD trucks are rated at 2,000, 2,500 and 3,000kg and can be supplied with liquid petroleum gas (LPG) or diesel engines. All six options run on pneumatic tyres.

The five new features are: an anti-prestart system to prevent starter engagement with the engine running, a diesel quick-starter (claimed three seconds at minus 15°C); LP engines with electronic pointless ignition; magnetic neutral start swithces and ISO decal warning lamps.

Other design features include a high visibility mast, two spar steering wheel, nonslip floorplate, reduced brake pedal effort, larger accelerator pedal and cut-out step for ease of mounting.
