• An application for an additional operating centre has been rejected by North Eastern Deputy Licensing Authority Norman Moody because he felt the plan had not been properly advertised.
John Taylor, representing LA Haulage (East Cottingworth), agreed that the Yorkshire Evening Post did not reach the proposed new site at Howden Dyke — but told Moody that no news paper circulated in Howden Dyke "because there is nothing there". He felt the application had been properly advertised through the Yorkshire Evening Post in Howden.
Moody did grant five extra vehicles and two trailers to the company's existing licence for three vehicles and six trailers, despite environmental objection from the local authority and resident Robin Rich.
