• One of the first casualties of deregulation is Glynn Pegg Productions which began operations in South Yorkshire on October 26 and is to close down after just six weeks' operation.
The company, South Yorkshire's only new small bus firm, operated 12 journeys a day between Rotherham and the village of Stainton. These will be replaced by a four-times-a-day service operated by South Yorkshire Transport, the county's biggest bus company.
