THE Advisory Conciliation and Arbitration Service is expected to be called in to help resolve a dispute between the United Road Transport Union and Rank, Hovis, McDougall over van boys' jobs.
Bread delivery Salesmen at the Birkett and Bostock plant in Stockport refused £1,500 a man and an improved incentive scheme in return for the sacking of the van boys.
At Harvey's bakery in Wigan, drivers are also resisting a similar scheme in a bid to save the jobs of between 50 and 60.
