ON Monday (December 9) the Road Haulage wages Order RH(99) took effect. providing for a cost of living payment of £3.20 a week to be paid to most full-time workers under the threshold agreements, as well as a £2.25 increase in the basic rate. The statutory rninimur weekly wage for adu drivers becomes £21.97, an the subsistence allowance raised to £100.
The wages Order is SI N 1974/ 1916 and costs 26p n (29',/2 p post free) from HI Stationery Office.
