FODENS is considering laying off a number of its shop floor and office workers at the end of January. A spokesman for the company told CM this week that the company was proposing to make about 180 staff re
dundant at the end of next month, although the position had not yet been finalised. Due to natural wastage the actual number of workers to lose their jobs is likely to be 140 — about four per cent.
