• The DOT is urging London local authorities to provide adequate overnight parking facilities for LGVs and consider their access needs for goods collection and delivery in new traffic management and parking guidance issued last week.

• The Department of Transport has given in to pressure for more consultation time on the planned M25 link roads between junctions 12 and 15. Local organisations have until 30 October to comment on the scheme.
Profit slip
• Profitability fell in BOC's Vacuum and Distribution division last year. Turnover rose from £200.2m in nine months to 30 June 1991 to £201.9m for the same period in 1992. Operating profit fell from £19.9m to £12m.

Dealer duo
MI Arlington is spending about £250,000 on its Foden and Renault dealerships the MI Truck Centre in Leicestershire. The two dealers are to be based on separate sites with the Foden facility opening in September and Renault opening in October.
