• Birch Haulage of Barnetby, South Humberside has bought two 65.3m aluminium tanker trailers from the Hamburg manufacturer Feldbinder, the first non-tipping models in its 16-strong tanker fleet.
They can carry a payload of up to 31 tonnes at their 44 tonne GCW design rating and will be used to shift hydrated lime from the company's chalk quarry at Melton Ross.
The tankers are said to be able to discharge at the rate of a tonne a minute.
They run on nine-tonne SAF air suspended triaxles.
