Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Seddon Atkinson retains a 3% share (972), followed by Foden which sold 336 trucks and artics, finishing the seven months to the end of July with • a 1.04% share.

Overall sales of trucks and arbcs above 3.5-tonnes GVW are currently running 3.5% ahead of last year's figures, while the importers' share of the market has fallen to 39.2%.

In the one-tonne pickup and panel van market (up by 7.5%), Ford's massive 42.3% share, based on 31,247 vehicles sold up to the end of July, remains apparently unassailable — and it does not look as if the company will face a serious challenge to its overall market domination during the rest of the year.

Freight Rover has increased its sales, but remains a long way adrift in second place with 13.3% (9,868).

Bedford, however, has slumped to 7.8% (5,821), hampered by dwindling Midi sales and the loss of the CF2, which finally went out of production last month.

Renault UK is maintaining its strong fourth place, having sold 5,357 Trafic and Master vans during the first seven months of the year.

Sales in the car-derived van (CDV) sector are also up by 3.8% this year, with Ford again calling the shots with a dominating 32.8% stake (18,703 vans sold up to the end of July).

Next is Bedford, with a steady 25.3% share (14,438), while Austin Rover is down in third place with 17.8% despite the availability of the two-litre direct-injection Perkins/Austin Rover MDI diesel in its Maestro van models.
