• Disciplinary proceedings involving Llannelli-based B J Daniels & Sons have been adjourned for three months by South Wales Deputy Licensing Authority Ivor Pugh — pending receipt of a letter from the company's accountant indicating that it has sufficient resources to continue operating.
The company was called to a Caernarvon public inquiry in the light of bouncing cheques in payment of vehicle excise duty and convictions for using vehicles without excise licenses and failing to return a void excise licence.
Producing accounts for 1986 and 1987, director Roy Daniels said the problems arose after the company, which was set up in 1984, had to clear debts of a previous partnership operation. The financial situation was now satisfactory and the company has a 210,000 overdraft arrangement with its bank.
Adjourning the hearing after requiring the letter from the company's accountants, Pugh said that he has to be satisfied about the company's repute and its financial resources.
