A CHASSISLESS Alcan Bonallack Coldsaver 2000 tri-axle unit operates an intensive abattoir collection service for the Gland Division of the Imperial Meat Company.
It is primarily specified for the carriage of meat for use in the pharmaceutical industry. Solid animal pancreas materials are pallet-loaded using a Ratcliff cantilever tail lift with a throw-over plate and then are side-loaded to a forward stowage area for boxes used in packaging pharmaceutical raw materials. In addition, liquid animal products are carried in two under-slung 250gal stainless steel tanks.
The construction was completed within the Coldsaver 2000 design package using a combination of lightweight 76mm (3in) and 100mm (4in) alloy 18 standard wire guage pre-injected PU foam panels.
