Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

DID you know that New York dressed poultry is a big favourite on the British domestic market but not acceptable in Europe. You didn't? Dear, oh dear!

Well, anyway, apparently our way of preparing poultry is going to have to change under EEC law. Indeed, it should have changed by now, but we've been given dispensation till 1984 to get our poultry houses into EEC shape.

That's a bit like the hours regulations and the tachograph situation except that operators unlike poulterers have only got until next year to come up to the mark. But there's more — £8m more.

You see, the hen men are getting a grant of £8m to meet the conversion cost — now, if only the DoE could be as persuasive as the men at the Min Agri and Fish then at least part of the anti-tacho community would be converted.
