• A new type of Rent-a-Box multi-purpose site container that can be used as a workshop, store or site office is now available from Cross (Southall) Ltd, Uxbridge Road. Southall, Middx, at a rental of £3.50 a week, while the transport charge within a 10-mile radius of Southall is approximately £3.50 for each move. The container has a payload of about 5+ tons and it can also be used for the carriage of material or plant. It has a length of 1011 and a height of 7ft and the base width is 4ft 4in. Shelves are provided by side extensions having a height of 3ft 6in.
The container is transported in the same way as a Rent-a-Box rubbish container on a special two-wheeled trailer equipped with an hydraulically operated lifting system. An industrial tractor is employed to haul the trailer.
