Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• There is new hope for the people of the Garnswllt and Hopkinstown district whose bus services are being withdrawn by the South Wales Transport Co Ltd on August 14 (CM July 30 1971). Mr Peter Smith, who at the present time is still employed by the company. has been in communication with the Traffic Commissioners in the area with a view to his operating services in this district of South Wales. He is, in fact, one of several men likely to be made redundant by the reorganization already mentioned in CM of the South Wales Transport Company's Ammanford depot.

Mr Smith claims that he has already been informed by the Commissioners that they are prepared to grant a short period licence for the services Ammanford Pontardulais via Garnswllt and Ammanford—Hopkinstown via Bettws. with restrictions on picking up and setting down passengers between Pontardulais and Glanffrwe Squ,are, and between Ammanford and West End.

Mr Smith told CM that this was subject to him obtaining suitable vehicles and producing evidence of satisfactory maintenance arrangements. The four services from which the South Wales Transport Company are in fact withdrawing are Pantyffynnon-Tairgwaith, AmmanfordBrynamman, AmmanfordHopkinstown and Ammanford-Llandybie.
