entitled " Specialists in Horsebox Design," which appeared in the issue of The Commercial Motor dated July 2nd, we referred to a new low-priced horsebox which was shortly to be produced by Messrs. Vincents, of Station Square, Reading. Particulars of this interesting vehicle have now come to hand. The box is mounted upon a Ford 30-cwt. chassis and is designed to accommodate a mare and foal, or, alternatively, it may be employed as a lorry.

The animal enters at the rear by means of a ramp which provides an easy gradient. The interior of the body is equipped with adjustable and collapsible partitions which form a stall of dimensions sufficient for the accommodation of the largest of horses.

When unloading is to be effected, the seat next to that of the driver is raised and the partition between his cab and the main compartment is swung forward, so that ample space for egress is provided. This patent device is employed in order to minimize the length of the body.

a40 The front portion of the side panel forms the ramp. A swing door is provided in the division behind the driver's seat, the former enabling a horse to be kept under supervision when transport is being effected.

The body panels are terminated a short distance below the cant-rail level, the portion between the sides and the head being slatted to permit adequate ventilation of the interior. The vehicle costs £365.
