ABERDEEN-BASED Walkers Transport is closing down after 34 years,citing the rising cost of fuel.
Sam Walker says:"There are several factors involved, but the main one is the cost of fuel which has risen substantially. Another is the sheer number of changes that have taken place in haulage over the past 10 or 15 years.1 feel I'm too old to change now and think we've had our time."
Walkers employed 1.0 staff,including seven drivers.Seven tractors and 14 trailers will be sold at auction.
