As the Hawk prepares for his forthcoming visit to Commercial Motor's Truckfest 2000 at the East of England Showground, Peterborough, on 30 AprI1-1 May, he learns of yet another reason which should make this year's show a real humdinger— the return of Eddie Stobart!
Yes, he's back. Not only will the great man himself be attending, but the Eddie Stobart display promises to feature a variety of "unusual" trucks. This will include selected vehicles from Its Belgium base, plus one of the latest MANs which will take pride of place. For those fans who just can't get enough, there will even be a dedicated merchandise marquee.
Colin Ward, Truckfest event director, says: "We're delighted to have an Eddie Stobart exhibition at this year's event. We are also delighted to welcome Eddie Stobart to the list of event sponsors."
Excellent! Now all that remains is for my fourfooted pal Foden to take his annual bath. Funny how he discovers the whippet in him at the first sniff of soap and water.
