SIX MAN tractive units fitted with pre-production versions of the new Eaton TS0 11612 Twin-Splitter gearbox (CM, July 21, 1984) will shortly be starting operational fleet trials with British hauliers.
The six vehicles are two 16.321 4x2, two 20.321 6x2 and two 22.321 6x2 tractive units.
The trials vyill form part of an existing Eaton gearbox evaluation programme currently run by MAN, which is one of the biggest users of Eaton Transmissions in Europe.
As well as MAN, both lveco and Foden have taken a number of the Twin-Splitter pre-production gearboxes which are produced at Eaton's St Nazaire plant in France.
