A SUCCESSFUL racing-car designer has turned his hand to a reproduction 1920s-style 15cwt van with a bonnet and radiator:that could have come from an Edwardian threecylinder Rolls-Royce. He is Len Terry, design director of Fleur de Lys Automobile Manufacturing, and the vehicle takes its name from its town of origin, Newark.
Sheep's clothing conceals a much more virile animal, because the engine is the Ford Transit 2-litre overheadcamshaft petrol unit. The van is described as "hand-built for the gourmet" and at £14,950 plus vat its appeal is certainly to the dilettante.
