WE'RE LOOKING at Scotland next week. Our passenger editor has been to Strathclyde Passenger Transport Executive, Jack Semple called on Scottish Freight, and out technical editor has visited Penman Engineering of Dumfries. In addition, we will have a pictorial follow-up feature to our news report on Truckfest (see page 3) and Bill Brock has road tested a Peugeot 305 diesel van.

• Almost 18 months ago, A. C. Penman of Dumfries, all set to exhibit at the Scottish Motor Show, suddenly had to withdraw. Its holding company had gone into liquidation. But Penman's trading outlook was healthy and after two months the workforce was mobile again as Penman Engineering. Now it supplies customers from the Highlands of Scotland to the South Coast of England. Bill Brock reviews this Scottish bodybuilder's products.

• The National Freight Consortium's operations north of the Border are hardly recognisable from those 10, or even five years ago, when they were all but written off by many people in the industry. Jack Semple talks to Scottish Freight boss John Copland about the remarkable recovery of the group, • In the Glasgow area Microbuses were intended to increase passenger transport opportunities by complementing rather than competing with conventional large buses. Noel Miller has visited Stathclyde Passenger Transport Executive to see these minibuses in action and to report on how they have met this objective.

• Peugeot, a name respected for its ruggedness in many parts of the developing world, is one of the UK's most successful light van importers with just over four per cent of the light commercial market. Last August a new 2.0-litre diesel engine was introduced into its 305 car derived van range. The GL version which we report on next week is also equipped with a five-speed gearbox.

• We have a full six-page report from Truckfest 85, which drew 70,000 people to the East of England showground despite awful weather. Britain's most diverse truck show is here to stay — find out why next week.
