• Strong representations have been made by the FTA to the DoE urging the Department not to make any decision on dimensions ol the Channel Tunnel until maximum gross vehicle weight limits have been decidee within the EEC. In any event, says the FTA an ample axle-weight-limit margin should b4 provided on the rail wagons to be used in tht Tunnel and consideration should also lx given to the question of indivisible loads.
