Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

of the advantages of stapling machines for assembling light components, but as the chief examples have been made in America or Germany, they have shown an overall economy only when backed by reliable service. British users have sometimes found their advantages offset by a shortage of spares and delays in service, and staples have not always been available when required. When pneumatic machines are used in line assembly, any such delay can cause widespread disorganization.

With reliable stapling machines, however, two unskilled men can do the work of three skilled men using other methods, and still give a high quality of finish. Consequently, Industrial Staplers, Ltd., have evolved four machines, which are now being made in this country, and have received a S50.000 order for them from a leading American motor manufacturer.

These machines are ousting tacks, adhesives, and even the hammer and nail. They are suitable for putting plastic trim on seats, anti-squeak material oia floor boards, padding on door panels, and the lining and covering on export packing cases.

The Titan Trigger Tacker is a twinimpact gun for hand operation. It has 45 quick-loading magazine with a

capacity of 150 to i-in. staples. The depth of penetration is adjustable by moving a button impact selector which gives a medium strike for soft materials or a reinforced strike for hard surfaces. A calibrated gauge ensures straight-line stapling and simplifies working against uprights or ledges.

Another machine, the Industrial Stapling Hammer, has 'been developed for heavy tacking with one hand at one blow. It holds 200 staples of the same sizes, and ha' 'S hardened-steel working parts. It is useful where materials have to be held in position with the other hand.

The Speedfire Pneumatic Tacker works off any normal compressor at. 40-50 p.s.i., and gives smooth-finish stapling by unskilled labour as fast as the trigger can be squeezed.

Following the success of these three models, Industrial Staplers, Ltd., decided to evolve a heavy-duty stapler which would give equal speed and economy in jobs involving heavy or hard materials. The result was the Giant Tacker, a two-handed machine Which will staple thicknesses up to f in. It takes five sizes of staple in hard steel, with h-in., or shanks. It is operated by hand, but is readily adaptable for use with a lever attachment or treadle,
