Hartlepool's Trolley-bus Scheme Well Advanced.

The scheme for the conversion of the through route between Hartlepool and West Hartlepool from trams to trolleybuses, by the joint efforts of the two corporations, is now being expedited, and it is expected that the new service

will be in operation within the next three months. The joint committee representative of the two authorities has decided to purchase twelve 30-seater trackless vehicles of the single-decker saloon type similar to those already in use on the West Hartlepool Corporation trolley-bus system. Each authority will own six of the new units.

Upon the completion of this through route for operation by trolley-buses there will only remain one , short tram section in the whole of the two towns, namely, that to Seaton Carew, and this is also to be converted to railless operation in the near future. The Bill empowering the Hartlepool Corporation to work trolley vehicles has now been passed for its third reading.
