INSOLVENCY practitioners handling stricken Southampton haulier Eagleway Freight are understood to be looking to sell the business and assets to interested parties. Eagleway Freight, which entered administration on 21 August, is part of collapsed Jersey-based shipping firm Huelin-Renouf, which entered liquidation the day before. The group is understood to have been struggling for some time
due to a reduction in freight traffic and pressures on costs.
A statement from Grant Thornton, which is handling the case, said: "The affair and assets of the companies are being managed by the joint liquidators and administrators, who act as agents of the companies and without liabilities."
The group owned a fleet of Dafs, Mercedes and Renaults and almost 70 trailers.
