has moved into general haulage. The haulier started offering the service to help use vehicles not being used for aggregates work during quiet periods. It had also received a number of enquiries from clients. The decision to expand its services helped it seal a five-year contract renewal with a major client, and it has since bought six new Volvo trucks and a number of curtainsiders to meet
demand. "We decided to add the operation as another string to our bow," said TJ Transport MD John Gosling. "Retail deliveries begin to pick up around September, so we wanted to take advantage of this."
TJ Transport, which began life as an aggregates haulier 18 years ago and now specialises in waste haulage, is authorised to run up to 83 vehicles from sites in Fareham, Winchester, Havant, Portsmouth, and Yapton in West Sussex.
