Commercial Motor Live is less than four weeks away: here's what to expect

THEY SAY A picture can paint 1,000 words, so perhaps it's best to describe the scale and scope of Commercial Motor Live visually. Combining seminars, the Quiet Delivery Depot, an exhibition, and the chance to drive the latest Euro-6 trucks from all bar one manufacturer, Commercial Motor Live 2013 has

something for everybody in transport. The event takes place on 2-3 October at Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedford. • To see what happened last year, view the short film clip at http://bitlynaTqJp9

• To book tickets, go to conunercialmotorlive. corn. But hurry, numbers are limited.

Arriving at the event

Upon arrival at Millbrook, you will take a bus from the car park to the registration building. Sign up, watch the health and safety video in the cinema, and get your event passport stamped. Without a stamped passport you will not be allowed to take part in the ride and drives. Lunch is served in this building from noon until 2pm. This building also features the registration desk for the Tipper Zone.

Having registered, watched the health and safety film, and got your passport stamped, you leave the registration area and head to the main indoor exhibition, where you'll also find the seminar theatre. There are 23 exhibitors already confirmed with several more due to be added. Whether you're after a new telematics system, legal advice, or services and products to improve your fuel efficiency, there are exhibitors that are ready and willing to help. To the right is the seminar theatre. There are four sessions a day: the transport law session runs on both days, as does the Euro-6 session, where Elddis Transport (Consett) MD Nigel Cook will reveal his experiences of running the latest generation of trucks; quiet deliveries and fuel efficiency are covered on day one; and on day two we have the contentious legislation double-whammy of cycle safety and the HGV Road User Levy.

This is the outdoor exhibition and where all the ride and drives depart from and return to. Commercial Motor Live takes place come rain or shine — don't worry, we'll have plenty of umbrellas available if the heavens open. This is also where you will find the Quiet Delivery Depot, featuring the Quiet Delivery Consortium, Albert Jagger, Rolltek, Toyota Material Handling, the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, and Sealed Air. • To find o ut more about last year's Quiet Delivery Depot and what you can expect this year, go to http://bit.ly/1bNeeg8
