• Criminals will often use knives to cut holes in curtainsiders, and once they have identified the load they will phone their 'handlers' to ask how much they will pay for it. If there are no takers they'll move onto another truck, but If there is a successful bid they will move their truck close alongside, transferring the goods to their truck via a side door. The stolen goods are then driven to a warehouse or remote farm where the loads are 'slaughtered' or rapidly split up. The buyers are instructed to come and collect the goods, and they will then appear in markets, car boot sales or other outlets, says Heinrich-Jones.
