• A 63-year-old driver whose illegal lorry killed a mother and two children has been sentenced to two years in jail.
Keith Hunt of Marlow Rd, Stokenchurch, Bucks was jailed after admitting three counts of causing death by dangerous driving in October last year on the B482 in Buckinghamshire.
Sarah Prosser, 33, died together with her eight-year-old daughter Laura and Nikita Somes. 10.
Eyewitnesses said Prosser's Fiat car had been crushed to less than half its normal length.
Ben Gumpert. prosecuting, said: "It was compressed between the tree and the oncoming skip lorry."
The truck's annual test had expired more than a month before the accident and Gumpert said the vehicle would have failed a test because of defects including faulty brakes.
Simon Brown, defending, said Hunt had been an LGI,' driver for 38 years, had a spotlrss record and was a quiet, law abiding man.
In addition to the prison sentence Hunt was banned from driving for four years and ordered to retake his driving test before going on the road again.
