Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

/ Safety experts are "concerned" over proposals to widen 80% of the M25 to four lanes within six years and to allow trucks in three of those lanes.

The £.2.8bn project will reduce the width of the second lane by 152mm and the third lane by 305mm — and that could be hazardous, says RoSPA. It is concerned that if trucks are allowed in to three lanes it could make motorists feel constrained, particularly where trucks are slowed down by a gradient.

It is also worried that although most of the 188km motorway will retain its 3.6m hard shoulder there will be some areas, such as under bridges and tunnels, where it will be dispensed with. "If somebody breaks down they will be stuck on the road and could quite easily be ploughed into," says RoSPA.
