Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Southfields' curtainsided intermodal swap body system has earned the approval of Deutsche Bundesbahn (German Railways) following tests at DB's research centre at Minden.

These include proving the bodies' structural strength when lifted with a 32 tonne load; the floor's ability to resist forklift axle weights of 5.46 tonne; and testing the curtains' retentive capability using a 4.05-tonne check load.

The system, which is built on to base frames and bulkheads made by European Intermodal Products of Rotherham, complies with European standards EN283 and 284 for intermodal swap bodies.

It uses Powermesh reinforced curtains and a rigid front bulkhead of corrugated steel with twin container doors at the rear.

Standard fittings include twistlock sockets set at 6.1m, grappler arm lifting sockets and fold-up legs.

To take advantage of growing demand, Southfields has established a European sales office in Willingen, Germany headed up by David Weissgerber.
