• Bradford Metropolitan City Council has ordered eight Laird 18m' VarioPress refuse bodies on Seddon Atkinson 2-11 chassis in an order worth nearly £600,000.
The Anglesey-based bodybuilder is a newcomer to Bradford's 55-strong predominantly Dennis fleet. It had to meet strict criteria on performance, price and availability. In addition to building the German Faun design of bodywork Laird produces the Telstar winter equipment ranges following its purchase in April and subsequent move to north-west Wales.
