Redditch-based LC Skips has been rejected by a Birmingham public inquiry which was held at the direction of the Transport Tribunal. The company's application for a twovehicle licence had initially been refused by the West Midland Traffic Area Office.

There was also a representation from the owner of part of the land forming the access to the proposed operating centre at the rear of 26 Hewell Road, Redditch, but it was subsequently held to be invalid.

After considering the matter the LA wrote to the company refusing the application. The company appealed and the Transport Tribunal decided that the case ought to be heard at a public inquiry.

By the time the application came before Deputy LA Roger Seymour the objection had been withdrawn. However, Seymour held that the company did not meet the professional competence requirement after hearing that its transport manager was only employed part time.
