Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A FIRE JACKET to put out tyre fires was demonstrated at the works of Monsanto Chemicals, near Wrexham, last week.

The device, invented by Station Officer Brian • Powell, of the Cumbria Fire Service, .consists of a glassfibre jacket which fits closely around the wheel, suppressing heat from brake drums and tyres to protect even inflammable loads by allowing a stream of water to flow through it. It is claimed that it can be fitted within seconds.

Both Cumbria fire service and Monsanto are taking delivery of further prototypes for evaluation.
