rlA RESOLUTION protesting against the Government's plan to denationalize road transport was issued by the Labour Party in London, on Monday. According to the motion, the denationalization of road haulage will make the integration of the national transport system impossible and cause serious financial loss to the railways. Transport costs will be raised, technical efficiency will be reduced and conditions of work for employees will be prejudiced.

The resolution is being submitted to meetings throughout the country. These were listed in "The Commercial Motor" on August 15. Meetings were held last Saturday in London, Derby and Southampton. Others will take place next Saturday in Manchester. Bristol, Birmingham and Leeds.

M.P.s TO DEBATE DENATIONALIZATION

r0 Members of Parliament will ebate denationalization under the auspices of the Manchester centre of the Institute of Traffic Administration at the Carlton Restaurant, Brown Street, Manchester, on September 17. Mr. J. R. Bevins will put the Government's view that the denationalization of road transport is in the best interests of the nation, and Mr. Will Nally will oppose the motion.

Members of the Manchester district of the Industrial Transport Association will make this meeting their first official fixture of the new session.

ATKINSON EXPORT EFFORT IN the year ended March 31 last, I almost 50 per cent, of the output of Atkinson vehicles was exported, says Mr. W. G. Allen, chairman of Atkinson Lorries (Holdings), Ltd., in his annual report. He expects that during the first six or seven months of the current financial year, as many chassis will be shipped as during the whole of last year.
