• A287 Fleet: Expect delays due to major roadworks with temporary traffic lights between Mill Lane dual carriageway and jacknalls Ell until the end of October.

• A420 Botley Road: Severe congestion until the end of the month due to roadworks on Botley Road.

The South-West

• A35 Dorset: Major roadworks start on 10 October between Morecombelake and Charmouth with single-lane traffic until Christmas.

• A3078 Probus, Cornwall: The road is closed for roadworks from the A390 junction until midDecember.

The Midlands and East Anglia

II M6 West Midlands: Contratiow between Junctions5-6 with three narrow lanes in each direction and speed restrictions.

• A441 Birmingham: Pershore Road, Edgbaston is closed to out-of-city traffic between Priory Road and Pebble Mill Road.

The North

• M1 Junction 47: Roadworks and a contratiow are in operation with two lanes both ways at peak times until summer 1997.

Wales

▪ M4 Junctions 23-24: Widening work will continue in connection with the second Severn crossing until February 1996.

• A449 and A40 Gwent: Major works between Newport and Monmouth will reduce much of the route to a single lane until December.

Scotland

• A749 Glasgow: Dalmarnock Bridge will be closed in the southbound direction for major roadworks until June 1996.

• M90 Tayside: Lane closures in both directions for roadworks at junction 10 will last at least until October next year.
